The
Riad is located about 5 minutes walk from the main square in the old Medina.
It is next to the spice market and carpet souk. The quartier is a safe
area and the route is generally well lit. I pay towards a guardian for
the quartier and he sits in the street from late evening to early morning
every night. Access to the main square is by taxi in the morning until
midday, after that time taxis have to set down outside the square and
therefore you need to walk across the square. If you have baggage, there
are men with hand pulled chariots who will take things for you at a negotiable
price around 30 dirhams. From the riad it is possible to walk to both
of the palaces, the Koranic school and all of the souk area. Please take
sensible shoes for walking as pavements are uneven. |
